Accessing the Admin UI

Okay, let’s login to the Admin UI and have a look. As part of the beta sign-up process you should have received an Admin login URL, looking something like this:

https://admin.prefactor.net/a/0123456789abcdefghjkmnpqrstvwxyz

Open that up in a browser and login using the credentials used when you signed up.

When you first login you’re on the domain overview screen. If you have multiple domains, it will choose the first one in your account. If you’re trying Prefactor out for the first time, you’ll only have the Playground domain set up.

In the top left of the screen you’ll see your account name, followed by the name of the domain that’s currently selected. If you click on the name of the domain, you’ll see a list of other domains within your account. (You probably only have one at this point.)

Going down the list:

  • Domain overview: This screen
  • Pools: The pools that contain registered identities. There’s a lot of depth here, so we’ll get into this a bit later.
  • Rulesets: These govern how users authenticate, what factors they need and the flow of the authentication screens they’ll use.
  • Client applications: Each of the applications you build which use Prefactor will be listed here.
  • Account settings: The admin users in your account, and their sessions. You can also create Prefactor API keys here.

And in the bottom left corner of the screen are your account details, and the sign out button.
